Nominations are reviewed against the values that guide the project: people, honesty, legacy, and craft. We look for stories that are genuine, that add something to the record of a community, and where the contributor is comfortable being filmed on their own terms.
Contributors do not pay to be featured, and featuring a person or business is never a paid arrangement. Any sponsored or funded content will always be clearly labelled as such.
We represent contributors’ own words and experiences as faithfully as possible. Where a film touches on a sensitive or contested subject, we take extra care to check facts and give a fair account.
If a contributor or a viewer identifies a factual error in a published film or on this site, we will review it and correct it where appropriate.
